FS1 (or FOX sports 1) is everything you imagine. This sporting network offers fans an opportunity to watch all kinds of American favorites from MLB (including MLB playoffs) to UFC to soccer and everything in between. Since it is owned by the FOX Corporation, the network has plenty of history to keep it running for a long time to come. If you’re interested in learning how to watch the FS1 live stream without a cable connection, check out this helpful guide.
Sports is one of the number one cited reasons for not cancelling cable. With the tightly held licenses and the immediate nature of the games, it is no wonder that fans are worried about missing out on their favorite teams and events without access to 24-hour cable. FS1 and other networks recognize this and are offering options for fans to keep up with their favorite games and teams without hanging on to an expensive cable bill and the other 800 or so unwanted channels that come in a sports package. Thankfully, there are now some great legal ways to enjoy an FS1 stream without cable.
If you want to ensure that you have all the best access to watch FS1 online, here are our recommendations. It’s easier to stream FS1 than you might think.
Sling TV Now Offers FS1 Live Stream at Lowest Price
In April 2016, Sling TV added an FS1 stream (along with regional FOX Sports networks and local FOX affiliates) to one of its new basic channels packages. Sling TV is a live streaming service that gives subscribers access to popular pay TV channels for a fraction of the price of cable and with no contract required. The basic package (called Sling Blue) with FS1 live stream and over 40 other popular channels is just $25 a month with no commitment required. That makes it the cheapest way to watch FS1 online without cable, allowing you to enjoy all sorts of live sports, including soccer (Champions League, Europa, and more), MMA, and a whole lot more.
With Sling, you can watch FS1 on Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Xbox, etc. Apple and Android phones and tablets, and computers are also compatible. With the basic package that the FS1 stream is in, you can stream FS1 and other channels on up to 3 devices at once, and there are no restrictions for mobile streaming anywhere in the US (unlike Vue which blocks most mobile streaming outside of your home network). Check out our Sling TV review for more info on the service.
Sling TV regularly runs special offers on streaming devices for customers who sign up for 3 months of service. For instance, you may be able to get a free Roku 2 when you sign up for 3 months of service. Click here to learn more about the Roku special offers. They also have run some huge discounts on Apple TV for new customers. That’s a great value, and it’s a no-brainer for anyone who needs a streaming player for their TV.
Want to test out Sling TV before you sign up? Try Sling TV free for 7 days now. That means you can watch FS1 online free for a week!
Watch FS1 Live Stream With PlayStation Vue
PlayStation Vue is another live streaming service that lets you watch FS1 online along with a selection of other popular pay TV channels. This service connects you to a streaming television service directly through your gaming console and other optimized platforms so you can cut cable but keep live TV. It has a robust channel lineup that includes an FS1 stream along with other popular channels.
What’s the difference between PlayStation Vue and Sling TV? And which is the better way to stream FS1?
PlayStation Vue starts at $29.99-$39.99 per month (varies by location), which is more expensive than Sling TV. And since it’s still a new service, device support is currently pretty limited. With Vue, you can watch FS1 on Roku, on your PS3 or 4 consoles, through an iPad app, on Amazon Fire TV devices, or with Chromecast. There’s no Apple TV support for Vue at this time, so if you’re an Apple junkie you’re out of luck trying to stream FOX Sports this way.
Interested in getting started? Lastly, it’s important to know that Vue has severe mobile streaming restrictions, blocking you from viewing most content when you’re away from home and severely limiting the usefulness of the FS1 live stream. Check out our PlayStation Vue review to see if it’s the right streaming service for you.
Watch FS1 Online with FOX Soccer 2Go
FOX does offer a soccer-only streaming service, called FOX Soccer 2Go, to people who aren’t cable subscribers. You may not be able to keep up with the other sports programming that Fox network has to offer, but you can maintain your soccer fan credentials and keep up with your favorite teams.
The subscription service allows you to live stream any soccer games that air on FS1 or FS2. You can buy FOX Soccer 2Go in two ways:
- Month-to-Month at $19.99 with no contract.
- Annually for only $99.99
Choosing the annual subscription will save you $140 a year. With the shear volume of soccer games aired each month, the yearly subscription is well worth it.
FOX Soccer 2Go doesn’t currently stream FOX Sports soccer matches to TV-based devices such as Roku or Chromecast, but there are plenty of ways to watch FS1 online content through your Apple or Android devices or right on your computer. Try it now!
What About FS1 Live Stream with FOX Sports Go?
We’re often asked about the direct from FOX sports app, FOX Sports Go. While it does offer a way to stream FS1 and FS2 content, the service is not currently available to cord cutters. In order to access and watch FS1 online with this app, you need to log in with pay TV credentials. However, if you do have PlayStation Vue, you can sign in.
