If you’re a fan of any Big 12 basketball teams (like Kansas, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and others) we’ve put together a guide to help you watch Big 12 basketball online.

Whether you’re a casual viewer looking to watch a Big 12 basketball live stream every once in awhile or a diehard fan looking to follow your team throughout the season, the legal options below will let you enjoy live games without a cable subscription. Enjoy!

Watch Big 12 Basketball Live Streams with Sling TV

what is sling tv

For fans of Big 12 conference schools, Sling TV is one of the best services to watch live games online.

ESPN owns the primary broadcasting rights for Big 12 schools, which means the vast majority of Big 12 basketball games will be shown on the ESPN family of networks (including the Big 12 Basketball Championship). Until very recently, it was impossible to watch ESPN without a cable subscription, but now, you can watch ESPN online with Sling TV.

Sling TV will give you live access to ESPN and ESPN2, as well as ESPN3 through the WatchESPN App (using your Sling TV login). You’ll also gain live access to TNT, TBS, and TruTV, three channels which host several Big 12 games during March Madness. You’ll also enjoy tons of non-sports content, from a total of 20+ popular channels like AMC, A&E, Disney Channel, TNT and more.

For an additional $5 per month, you can add the Sports Extra package, adding channels like ESPNU, SEC Network, ESPN Buzzer Beater, and more.

Sling TV (review) is our #1 recommendation because it’s affordable and flexible. It’s only $20 per month, and you don’t need to sign a contract or commit to anything. You can use it from anywhere with an internet connection, on a computer, mobile device, or streaming player. Sling TV will even give you a free Roku 2 or 50% off the Roku 3 if you pre-pay for 3 months of service.

To summarize, for just $20 per month you’ll be able to watch every Big 12 basketball live stream that airs on the ESPN family of networks, or on TNT/TBS/TruTV – which accounts for the vast majority of all Big 12 games. You’ll also get access to live movies, TV shows and more on some of TV’s best channels. There’s no long-term contract, and no commitment required!

Watch Big 12 Basketball Games Online for Free Using the WatchESPN App

watchESPN app

ESPN offers an app known as WatchESPN, which lets you watch lots of live sports content on channels like ESPN3. It includes some Big 12 basketball live streams, and it’s free to use if your ISP is on the list of participating providers. Note that this free access only lets you watch ESPN3 content, not anything from ESPN, ESPN2, or other ESPN networks. If your ISP or cable provider does not give you access to WatchESPN or if you want to watch other ESPN channels on your mobile device, you can also use your Sling TV login information to gain access to the app and all it has to offer for free.

If you do have access, you can use WatchESPN on streaming players, Xbox gaming consoles, and mobile devices.

Watch Featured Big 12 Basketball Games for Free Using Your Antenna

Some Big 12 basketball games will be hosted by over the air networks like CBS, ABC, and Fox. Luckily, these networks broadcast over the air for free, so all you need to watch them is an HD antenna.

I use the Mohu Leaf 50 indoor antenna, and I couldn’t be happier with it. It was very easy to install, it was affordable, and it works great. If you’re in the market for a new antenna, check out the Mohu first.

For more convenience, I also use my Tablo HD DVR with my Mohu to record games. That way, I can watch live or on my own schedule, depending on my free time. With the Tablo I can even watch live streams on-the-go, by linking my smartphone to my Tablo DVR. I’ve put together a guide of quality DVR devices to help you pick the right one for you.

Watch Big 12 Basketball Online using Playstation Vue

playstation vue

Playstation Vue is a new streaming service from Sony, available  for PS3 and PS4 users and on iPad and Amazon Fire TV devices. It’s also only available in select cities currently, including: Chicago, New York, Dallas, Miami, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

If you live in one of these cities and own a Playstation gaming console, you can subscribe to PS Vue. Plans start from $49.99 per month, and give you access to 50+ popular TV channels for live streaming. For Big 12 basketball streaming, you’ll get access to all Big 12 games that broadcast on the FOX family of networks. It has also been announced that Vue will soon be adding ESPN networks to its lineup.

Right now, Playstation Vue is pretty limited in terms of availability and is more expensive than some of its counterparts. It’s a new service, however, so I’ll keep you updated as Sony hopefully expands the reach and offerings of Vue.
