Especially if you no longer have cable, you’ll need to have a plan to keep up with your favorite team.

Luckily, you’ve come to the right place. This year, there are more ways than ever before to watch the Atlanta Hawks live stream legally, without cable. In this guide we’ll show you have to catch an Atlanta Hawks game live stream from the comfort of your home, without the need for expensive cable TV!

Watch Atlanta Hawks Live Stream with Sling TV

Sling TV

The best option to watch the Atlanta Hawks online is to use Sling TV.

Sling TV is a streaming service that is an affordable and easy alternative to cable TV. With it, you can enjoy anywhere from 25-60+ channels, depending on which package you choose.

So, how can you use Sling TV to watch the Atlanta Hawks online? Here’s how:

  1. Sign up for a free 7-day trial
  2. For NBA fans, we recommend Sling Blue ($25/month for 40+ channels)
  3. If you live in the Atlanta area, you’ll get FOX Sports Southeast, which is home to all Atlanta Hawks games!
  4. So, hawks fans living in the regional market of the Atlanta Hawks will be able to watch ALL their games using Sling TV!
  5. You should also get FOX Sports South for even more sports coverage!
  6. Beyond that, you can enjoy tons of shows, movies and sports on networks like TNT, TBS, Food Network, CNN, Comedy Central, and more
  7. Sling TV is non-contract, so you can cancel after the NBA season (or whenever you want)
  8. You can use Sling on almost any device, from anywhere!
  9. Don’t have a device? Score a FREE Roku or a cheap Apple TV, when you prepay for 3 months

For Atlanta-area residents, Sling TV is the best way to watch the Atlanta Hawks online without cable. It will provide access to ALL games (except the occasional regional blackout).

But, even if you don’t live in Atlanta, you can still use Sling to watch NBA games. Sling lets you watch TNT, home to games every Thursday and some Tuesdays. It also gives you ESPN (in some packages), which hosts games every week as well. Combined, these channels will cover 100+ games throughout the season. Additionally, they will be useful for NBA playoffs streaming on Sling TV. Lastly, Sling gives you access to the WatchESPN app, which you can use to access ESPN3 and ABC broadcasts. ABC hosts 10+ games per season.

Overall, Sling TV is one of the best ways to watch NBA online without cable. It’s absolutely the best for Atlanta area residents, and it’s still great for those living elsewhere. If you’d like to try it out, remember that you can snag a free 7-day trial.

Watch Atlanta Hawks Game Live Stream with Playstation Vue

vueSony has recently rolled out a new streaming service nationwide known as Playstation Vue. This TV-alternative is similar to Sling TV in that it gives you access to a number of popular cable networks. In the Vue lineup is TNT and the ESPN networks, which cover the regular season and playoffs extensively, providing a way to watch an Atlanta Hawks live stream without cable.

While Playstation Vue does offer a viable way to watch the Atlanta Hawks online, it has its drawbacks. The service starts at $29.99 a month, so it’s more expensive than Sling TV. More frustratingly, Vue is only available on a few devices (PS3/PS4, Fire TV, Roku, Chromecast, iPhone/iPad) and the service has severe mobile streaming restrictions that block viewing away from your home network significantly. That means if you want to watch Atlanta Hawks games online away from home, you may be out of luck with Vue.

Playstation Vue is an interesting service, and we’re interested to see where Sony takes it over the next few years. We’ll keep our PlayStation Vue review updated with the latest developments. For now, though, it’s a bit expensive and very limited. Sling TV is a much better option at this point.

Watch Atlanta Hawks Live Stream and Replays with NBA League Pass

nba league pass

Another good (although more expensive) option is NBA League Pass. This new service is the official streaming service of the National Basketball Association. If you sign up for League Pass, you’ll enjoy live streaming all season long, plus on-demand replays of all NBA games of the regular season.

Due to NBA broadcast licensing, there’s a big problem with this service if you’re a local fan: NBA League Pass blocks out all local teams. This means that you won’t be able to watch the teams from your local area on League Pass. For example, if you live in the Atlanta area, you won’t be able to watch Atlanta Hawks games live on League Pass – only on cable. But, for fans living outside of the Atlanta area who want to watch Atlanta Hawks online, League Pass is an option.

If you live outside of the broadcasting area of your favorite team(s), League Pass is a solid option. With it, you’ll be able to enjoy up to 40 live games per week, plus a lot more. Here’s what you’ll get with a subscription:

  • Live streaming of NBA games – up to 40 per week
  • On-demand streaming replays of every regular season NBA game
  • On-demand library of classic NBA games to watch at any time
  • Enjoy streaming on streaming devices (Roku, gaming consoles, Apple TV, etc.), mobile devices, computers, and more
  • Stream up to 4 different games at once to keep up with all the action

There are three different versions of this service:

NBA League Pass – $199.99 per season – gives you everything described above, allowing you to follow every team in the NBA (except team(s) in your local broadcasting area)

NBA Team Pass – $119.99 per season – lets you follow a specific team of your choosing throughout the season (local teams are still blacked out)

NBA Single Game Pass – $6.99 per game – gives you access to live streaming of a single game of your choice (local blackouts apply)

Watch NBA Games for Free with an Antenna

antenna DVR combo

You may be surprised to learn that you can watch NBA games totally free using an over-the-air antenna. There are several free over-the-air channels, which you can pick up with a quality TV antenna. ABC is one of the free channels, and as you likely know, ABC airs several featured NBA games throughout the season.

For added convenience, you can record the games on ABC as they air. Read our guide to DVRs to learn more about using a DVR and selecting the right one for your needs.

Watch NBA Games Online for Free with TNT Overtime

TNT Overtime is an online service from TNT that not many people know about. It’s completely free, and gives you access to live streaming of a few featured NBA games each week.

Overtime works on your computer, mobile phone or tablet. While the service only offers a few games each week, it’s worth taking a look at because it’s completely free.

Watch the Atlanta Hawks Online Blackout-Free with NBA League Pass International

For Atlanta Hawks fans living outside of the USA, NBA League Pass International is a solid option.

Basically, this service is the same as the domestic version you just learned about, with one big exception: it’s blackout-free. This means that, when you subscribe to the International package, you’ll be able to watch live games from every team, regardless of your geographical location. Here are some of the most popular international links: Australia, Ireland and UK
