Watch LA Lakers Live Streams with Sling TV

what is sling tvIf you’re new to the world of cord-cutting, there are a few essential services. Sling TV is one of them.

Sling TV is great for basketball fans, but it’s also just a great all-around service that helps to replace cable. With the service, you’ll be able to watch many of the best cable channels anyways – including ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, Disney Channel, A&E, and more. In many ways, Sling TV is a lot like cable – except much better, given that it’s only $20 per month, and no-contract!

So, what does $20 per month get you in terms of basketball coverage? Well, if you take a look at what channels that Sling TV offers, a few will stick out to NBA fans: ESPN, and TNT. Both ESPN and TNT host many NBA games throughout the year. ESPN offers games every week, on Wednesdays and Fridays, while TNT covers games each week on Thursdays and some Tuesdays.

With Sling TV, you’ll have unlimited access to live streaming of ESPN and TNT, which will let you watch over 100 NBA games throughout the season. ESPN will host 9 Lakers games, while TNT will host 11 Lakers games plus the NBA All Star Game streaming.

You can also use your Sling TV login credentials to watch NBA games on ABC, using the WatchESPN App. ABC will host 16 games in total this season, including 1 Lakers game.

Right now, if you sign up for 3 months of Sling TV, you’ll get 50% off a Roku 3 streaming player. Or, you can choose to go with a free Roku Streaming Stick with the same 3-month subscription. Sling TV is no-contract, so you can cancel after those 3 months with no penalties.

You can also try Sling TV out for a week – for FREE.

Use NBA League Pass to Watch LA Lakers Live Streams and On-Demand Replays

nba league passThe NBA itself offers its very own online streaming service to basketball fans. It’s called NBA League Pass, and it gives fans the opportunity to follow all their favorite teams throughout the regular season, without having to pay the high price of cable TV.

Unlike some other options on this list, NBA League Pass offers basketball, and just basketball. If you’re looking for an overall cable replacement, you’ll probably have to use a combination of services. For those fans looking for the maximum amount of basketball coverage possible, NBA League Pass is the best option.

Historically, there are 2 versions of this service, detailed below:
NBA League Pass is the full version. It will cost you $199.99 per season. With League Pass, you can watch live streams of every regular season NBA game and follow all your favorite teams from day one. You can also watch replays on-demand if you miss a game. During the playoffs, live streaming is not available, but you’ll be able to watch the games on replay starting a few hours after the live broadcast ends.

NBA Team Pass is a more affordable option for those looking to follow only one team. It will cost you $119.99 per season, a savings of $80 over the full League Pass. With Team Pass, you get access to live streaming and on-demand replays of all regular season games from a single team of your choosing. So, if you only want to watch the Lakers online, team pass is a good way to save a few bucks.

Both versions offer an impressive on-demand library of past NBA games so that you can relive the classics in full HD. Both versions can be viewed on your computer or mobile device, or on your TV using a streaming device.

IMPORTANT: both NBA League Pass and NBA Team Pass blackout local teams from live streaming. This means that fans living within their favorite teams’ broadcasting areas will NOT be able to live stream that team’s games (but can still watch replays). So, that means if you live in the Los Angeles area, you cannot watch LA Lakers online live, but only on-demand.

Also, new this season the NBA is offering an NBA Single Game Pass. This one-time purchase costs $6.99, and gives you access to a live stream of the single NBA game of your choice. This could be a good option if you’re on the road and you don’t have any other way to watch the LA Lakers online during that time period.

Watch NBA Games for Free Using an Antenna

Did you know that there is an easy and legal way to watch NBA games for free? In fact, you can watch all sorts of programming for no cost at all, using an HD antenna. If you don’t have an antenna, we recommend an indoor HD antenna so you won’t have to climb up on your roof to install it. The Mohu Leaf 50 is an excellent option.

Once you have an antenna, you can tune in and watch over-the-air networks like Fox and ABC. As you likely know, ABC is one of the networks that hosts NBA games on a regular basis. They don’t cover as many games as ESPN or TNT, but ABC still broadcasts around 16 NBA games each season. This year, they’ll show 16 total, including 1 LA Lakers game.

Check the NBA on ABC schedule to find out which games you can watch free over the air.

You can also record games hosted on ABC so that you can enjoy them later, on your own schedule. You’ll need a good DVR. Don’t have one? Check out the Tablo HD DVR, an advanced DVR that lets you stream your recordings to other connected devices. If the Tablo is out of your price range, check out our DVR comparison guide to learn about some other popular models.

Watch LA Lakers Live Streams on TNT with Playstation Vue

Vue for Rockets live streamFor the last few years, sony has been working on a new online streaming service for fans of its Playstation gaming consoles. They have recently released this service in select cities, and it’s called Playstation Vue.

Right now, Playstation Vue is only available in Chicago, New York City, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, and Dallas. If you live in one of these cities, you can subscribe to Playstation Vue for $49.99 per month (or more, depending on the package you choose).

Playstation Vue is similar to Sling TV, because it gives subscribers live access to common television networks. For NBA lovers, Playstation Vue is significant because it includes TNT network in its basic package. TNT will host many NBA games this season, including 11 LA Lakers games – all of which you can watch using PS Vue (if you live in a city that supports the service).

Right now, Playstation Vue is too limited and too expensive to suit the needs of most people. As of this writing, Sling TV is a far better option to watch the LA Lakers online because it gives you even more NBA content, plus tons of other great channels, for a much lower price.

Watch LA Lakers Online for Free with TNT Overtime

As we know, TNT Network broadcasts live NBA games every week (which you can watch using Sling TV). However, what a lot of fans don’t realize is that some of the games TNT hosts are simulcast online, via an app called TNT Overtime. Overtime lets fans watch select games live, for free, using their smartphones and tablets.

In the 2015-2016 season, TNT Overtime will host many primetime NBA games, including 6 LA Lakers games. TNT Overtime is a great way to watch the Lakers online, for free!
