The world changed when reality television began to dominate the ratings, and shows like The Bachelorette are considered staples in the reality arena. In fact, season 12 is coming up in May 2016, so fans aren’t disappearing. So, without access to cable, you can’t watch The Bachelorette, right? Absolutely wrong! There are a few ways to watch The Bachelorette online so here is where we suggest you start.

The Bachelorette is a counterpart to the popular The Bachelor, both airing on ABC. In this version, viewers follow one hopeful young woman as 25 men compete to win her heart. In some ways, the show breeds hope for eternal romance. The very first couple, Trista and Ryan, are still together and have two children. While other couples haven’t been as lucky, fans are still eager to watch the drama unfold on every season.

Watch the Bachelorette Online with Hulu

Network television is a big concern for most cord cutters, but it doesn’t have to be. Did you know that you can watch most ABC programming with a subscription to Hulu? That’s right, Hulu allows you to keep up with the latest shows on-demand from a variety of streaming devices. If you subscribe to Hulu Plus, you can watch The Bachelorette online the day after it airs. Or, you can watch The Bachelorette online free as Hulu will have each episode of the current season eight days after the original air date, and it will expire 30 days after the finale. There are so many options to watch The Bachelorette online with Hulu.

And not only can you watch The Bachelorette full episodes with Hulu, you’ll also be able to watch other ABC reality favorites like The Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars, and Shark Tank.

Hulu (review) can be streamed on pretty much any device, so it is very convenient for your new cable-free lifestyle. Hulu Plus is only $7.99 per month for the version with limited commercials. Or you can pay a little extra, totaling $11.99 per month, for the commercial-free version. Both options are very affordable.

Try it free to 7 days to see what you think!

Watch The Bachelorette Streaming on Sling TV

Sling TV

Sling TV is usually our top choice for cable cutters, but with shows on the broadcast networks things get a little trickier. You can watch The Bachelorette full episodes with Sling TV, but the options are more limited. The basic Sling TV package of channels is only $20 per month with no contract, which is a great deal in and of itself. To get access to ABC, though, you need to add on the Broadcast Extra package for $5 extra per month. While this all still sounds great, there is a catch.

ABC streaming is currently only available in select markets around the country including Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Raleigh-Durham. Check the website for more cities and to see when they add new metropolitan areas.

But Sling TV is still great for a number of other reasons including AMC for The Walking Dead, History Channel for Vikings, and Freeform to watch Switched at Birth. All of this will still mean you get to catch a lot of your favorite TV shows without cable.

If you qualify for the ABC streaming package and want to watch The Bachelorette online with Sling TV, start out with a free 7-day trial. Or, if you’re ready to commit, you can get a free Roku 2 or half off a new Roku 3 when you sign up for three months of service.

Watch the Bachelorette Live Stream on PlayStation Vue

Another great player in the streaming TV service space is Sony’s PlayStation Vue. This option, which can turn your gaming console into a complete cable replacement, is both affordable and chock full of amazing streaming cable content.

Unfortunately, just like the Sling TV Broadcast Extra Package, The Bachelorette live stream is limited to a few markets across the country including:

  • Chicago
  • New York City
  • Miami
  • Dallas
  • Los Angeles
  • San Francisco
  • Philadelphia

If you’re in these markets, you have access to ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS live. Otherwise, Playstation Vue is available across the country but you will only have on-demand access to your network channels. The basic package is only $29.99 so this is still a great deal if you’re willing to watch The Bachelorette online and on-demand. Vue is accessible on PS3/PS4, iPad, Amazon Fire TV, and Chromecast.

Read our PlayStation Vue review to learn more. Or, go ahead and start your free trial now.

Watch The Bachelorette Free in Your Own Home

While there may not be a way to watch The Bachelorette online free, you can absolutely watch it free with a little help from an old standard. New antennas have come a very long way from the rabbit ears on top of old tube televisions, back in the day before color and remote controls. With new antennas you can watch any broadcast network in your area as long as you have good reception. This includes ABC, and The Bachelorette, live as it airs.

For an added bonus, you can invest in a digital over-the-air DVR that allows you to record live TV and watch it back on demand from any paired device while you’re away from home.

We recommend the Mohu Leaf as a reliable and easy to use antenna. Add the Tablo DVR and you’re really cooking now!

So, now that you’re caught up on how to watch The Bachelorette online, what else do you want to know? Search for your other favorite shows to be at ease with cutting the cable cord.
