Were you a fan of the HBO miniseries The Pacific when it originally aired? Or maybe you never got around to seeing it, but want to know how to watch it now. There was a time when subscribing to HBO on top of your already expensive cable bill with the only way to watch their amazing original programming, but that is no longer the case. If you would like to watch The Pacific online, you’ve come to the right place.

The Pacific originally aired in 2010 and was produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. It was made to be a companion to the 2001 miniseries Band of Brothers, which was also wildly popular. The Pacific follows the stories of the 1st Marine Division on the pacific front. The series featured a huge ensemble case with very few household names, although notable performers Anna Torv (Fringe) and Caroline Dhavernas (Hannibal) played roles in the series. Actor William Sadler, from both film and TV, also plays a significant role.

Of course, you could always buy the series on Blu-Ray or DVD, but that isn’t the same as being able to watch it digitally anywhere you go. So how can you legally watch The Pacific online? Here’s how!

Watch The Pacific Online with Amazon Prime Instant Video

amazon prime video review

Amazon Prime Instant Video is just one of the many perks that comes with an Amazon Prime subscription. Let’s face it, getting free shipping with your Amazon Prime account is a fantastic perk, but the available streaming videos are nothing to sneeze at either. You can watch The Pacific online free with your Amazon Prime subscription, which makes the service more than worth it. In fact, Amazon offers a full video streaming library of award-winning shows and original content including a lot of HBO’s classic series.

And, if you get done with The Pacific be sure to go back and watch its companion series, Band of Brothers. Or, if you want something with a different tone about an alternate universe caused by the events of World War II, you can’t miss Amazon original The Man in High Castle. Instant Video has literally thousands of shows and movies to watch, so you’ll have more content to view than you have time for!

Amazon Prime is only $99 a year but comes with the free 2-day shipping, access to thousands of streaming TV shows and movies, a huge streaming music library, exclusive discounts, and more. Watch The Pacific Online with Sling TV + HBO

Sling TV

Maybe you’re looking for a more complete option when it comes to cutting cable. If so, our favorite tool remains Sling TV. With Sling TV, you have access to a number of cable networks without the big cable bill and can stream live TV as well as watch favorite shows on demand.

The basic package is only $20 per month. The Sling TV channel list includes great networks like ESPN, TNT, TBS, AMC, A&E, and many more. And there is no contract, which makes it a heck of a better deal than signing up for cable. HBO is an add-channel for only $15 more per month. There, you won’t only get to watch The Pacific full episodes and the rest of HBO’s impressive library on demand, but you’ll be able to keep up with current HBO series like Game of Thrones, The Leftovers, Girls, and Last Week Tonight.

You can always sign up for a free 7-day trial to make sure you like it. Or, as an added bonus, Sling TV is offering an amazing offer of a free Roku 2 if you sign up for three months of the service. The Roku is a fantastic device that allows you to watch Sling TV and many more apps directly on your television just like you would network and cable programming. The Roku 2 is still considered a top of the line device and retails for $69.99, so free is a pretty great deal. Or, if you really want the latest technology, the Sling TV promotion gives you the option of selecting a Roku 3 for half off. This newest device has all the same great features as the previous generation but includes voice search and a headphone jack for late-night TV viewing in comfort.

Watch The Pacific Online with HBO NOW

hbo now

Of course, we can’t leave off the direct-from-HBO method of watching streaming and on-demand content. When HBO GO was announced, many cable cutters were disappointed that they couldn’t pay for the service without having a cable subscription. But HBO told us to be patient, and we’re glad we were. HBO NOW is the on the go, cable-free option for fans. It offers the full library of on-demand HBO content, including The Pacific.

HBO NOW doesn’t offer a live streaming option, but new programming is available at the same time as it airs live, so the experience isn’t very different. Plus, you can start watching five or ten minutes after the airtime and not miss a scene. HBO NOW is available for only $14.99 a month and can be viewed on your computer, tablets, smart phones, or through streaming devices on your TV like Roku or Chromecast. Read more in our HBO NOW review.

These are some great ways to keep up with your old favorites, like The Pacific, and new HBO shows. If you want to know more shows you can watch online, read our watch TV online guide!
