Watch Discovery Family Streaming Online with PlayStation Vue
PlayStation Vue is your best option to stream Discovery Family live without cable. This product of Sony can make your gaming console, or connected device, a complete cable replacement tool with both live streaming and some on-demand content. Discovery Family is part of their basic package, which costs just $29.99 per month.
For viewers in 7 select U.S. cities, the cost is a little bit more. But for $39.99 per month you also get access to live local channels including the often difficult to access CBS. These cities are:
- New York
- Los Angles
- San Francisco
But don’t worry, if you live outside of these areas you will still be able to watch content from ABC, NBC, and FOX the next day, on demand.
PlayStation Vue is pretty accessible. You can watch Discover Family online through your PS3 or PS4, Apple or Android devices, Amazon Fire TV, and Chromecast. You won’t be able to watch Discovery Family on Apple TV yet, as support is not yet available for that format. But the company did announce the ability to watch Discovery Family on Roku now that they’re offering service on the popular device.
There is one limitation that PlayStation Vue users need to know about. You are tied to your home network, so watching content online away from home is severely limited. Even with the iPhone/iPad app, you will be restricted when not connected to your home network.
