Eagles rookie quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a hairline fracture in the team’s preseason opener, so expect to see more of Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel in week two of the preseason when Philadelphia travels to Pittsburgh for a matchup against Big Ben and the Steelers. You can obviously watch this game with a cable subscription, but we want to you to be able to enjoy an Eagles vs. Steelers live stream online. The game, which airs on the NFL Network, kicks off at 7 p.m. EST, Thursday, Aug. 18.
Here’s a few ways you can watch the Eagles vs. Steelers live stream:
Eagles vs. Steelers Live Stream on Sling TV
Our top option for watching this game is through Sling TV, a live streaming skinny bundle that’s shaping up to be a great service for NFL preseason games. Sling TV, which is still offering a free, 7-day trial, now carries the NFL Network live stream as part of its Sling Blue package. Now, you’ll only be able to watch the game on NFL Network if you’re out of the Philadelphia or Pittsburgh market. In those markets, the game will be blacked out. As we’ll mention below, the game is still available for free over-the-air using an antenna thanks to the signal from your local station.
Sling TV — read our review here — is more than just NFL Network. It also lets you watch ESPN and ESPN2 live, in addition to more than 25 other popular channels that you would typically see in a cable subscription package. The service starts at $20 per month, but as some add-ons if you want extra channels. You can watch Sling on a number of devices, including a Roku and Apple TV.
Sling was recently updated to allow live broadcasts from some local NBC and Fox affiliates. The Eagles vs. Steelers live stream won’t be available through this, because in addition to NFL Game Pass, the game is being broadcast over-the-air on CBS, which currently doesn’t offer an option to stream games.
Sling currently has a deal that scores you a free Roku 2 when you sign up for three months of service.
Eagles vs. Steelers Live Stream, On Demand with NFL Game Pass
If you’re a die-hard NFL fan, you’re probably familiar with the league’s Game Rewind streaming service. Looking to further appeal to cord-cutters, the league has ditched Game Rewind for NFL Game Pass. And it’s ushering it in with a sweet deal: You can watch the Eagles vs. Steelers live stream and several other preseason games this year with the $99 service.
Here’s what else Game Pass gets you: Access to all 256 regular NFL games on demand, plus on-demand access to all games since the 2009 NFL season. Nothing has been announced yet about live regular season games.
There are some market rules. If you’re a Steelers fan in Pittsburgh, you won’t be able to watch the Game Pass NFL preseason live stream until after the game concludes. Same goes for Eagles fans in Philly.
There is a 7-day free trial for Game Pass.
