Hulu TV Expands Beta Test, Now Available For Amazon Fire Stick and TV

Amazon Fire Stick and Amazon TV users, you’re next in line to try out Hulu’s new live television service! In their fight to claim their spot in the live streaming television space, Hulu announced this week that they’re letting more users join the current beta test.

The newest streaming TV service from Hulu will include more than 50 live channels in the basic package, and will have a price of just under $40 a month. That means that as far as price and available channels, it falls right in step with DIRECTV NOW, Sling TV, and PlayStation Vue.

At the initial launch, Hulu TV was only open to Xbox One, Android, Apple TV, iOS and Chromecast users. This week though, Hulu opened the gates to all Amazon Fire Stick users and select Fire Stick users. Hulu says chosen users have already received their invitation notices via e-mail, but didn’t offer any details about how or why they were selected. Support for Roku, Mac and PC devices is expected soon.

For their part, it looks like Hulu is actually listening to users who are taking part in this beta test, as they recently announced several additions to the service that came about solely because of customer feedback, including the choice to disable autoplay when watching a television series, an indicator that shows how caught up a viewer is a on a certain series and a badge that let viewers know when there’s a new of one of their favorites. The service is still in beta testing, so there’s a great chance more changes will be coming.

If you haven’t heard already, Hulu TV is a cable television alternative that offers the very same channels as most any cable package, but a much lower price tag. Up to 200 hours of DVR recordings are included in the subscription, plus unlimited simultaneous streams.
