People use Netflix subtitles for a lot of reasons. One obvious reason is if you’re watching something that’s in a different language. Other reasons might include being Deaf or hard of hearing. Maybe you just have a habit of watching Netflix at 3 a.m. so you need to keep the volume down. Whatever the reason, sometimes Netflix subtitles are necessary.
Unfortunately, the subtitles on Netflix, in their default setting won’t always work for everyone. The text may be hard to read or you may want to change the color. Whatever the reason or the need, you do have a little leeway where subtitles on Netflix are concerned. You’ll be able to make some changes so that they work for you.
While it may seem like a pain to have to adjust your Netflix subtitles, the good news is that no matter which device you use to change your subtitles, your Netflix subtitles should change across platforms, so you only need to make the changes once!
You’ll be able to change your Netflix subtitles on multiple devices. Whether you’re doing it on your computer or on a streaming device won’t change the method, too much. These specific instructions are for changing the Netflix subtitles on the Netflix website.
Step 1 – Go to your Netflix Account and Click Subtitle Appearance
Once you’ve signed into your account and went into your “Account” area you’ll want to scroll down to “My Profile” and click “Subtitle Appearance.”
Step 2 – Make your Netflix Subtitle Changes
Your first option is font. Your choices include:
- Small Caps
Color is up next. You can choose
You also have the option to choose Semitransparent.
Next option is Shadow. Your options here include:
- Drop Shadow
Your text size options include Small, Medium, and Large. Options for a background are also included.
Step 3 – Save your Changes!
Once you’ve saved your changes you will notice that your subtitles will have your new design the next time that you use them!
