Per Digital Trends, Disney’s Movies Anywhere app just added movies from 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, and Universal Pictures to its compatibility library.
If you haven’t heard about Disney’s Movie Anywhere app, it connects your digital purchases from Amazon Video, Google Play, iTunes, and Vudu, and it puts them all in one easy-to-access digital space. Now with the recent additions of these major digital retailers, Disney’s Movies Anywhere app will make watching your favorite movies even easier. In context of the industry, this deal also means Disney has gained an edge over direct competitor UltraViolet, so users of the latter company will want to keep a close eye on future developments.
Users can stream the Movies Anywhere app on Apple, Android, and Amazon Fire devices, as well as Chromecast, Roku, Sony Bravia Smart Televisions, and most internet browsers. Currently, if you activate and connect your Movies Anywhere account with any of these major retailers listed above, you’ll get Big Hero 6, Ghostbusters (2016), Ice Age, Jason Bourne, and The Lego Movie for free. That’s not a bad way to begin your digital movie collection if you haven’t already.
