Sling TV Offering Free HBO This Weekend To All Subscribers

Happy second birthday Sling TV! To celebrate the second anniversary of their official launch on February 9, 2015, Sling is giving a gift to all subscribers: a free weekend of unlimited access to HBO’s live and on-demand library.

Starting February 16 and running through February 20, every Sling customer (read our Sling TV review here) – both new signups and people who already have the service – will get free HBO, including live streaming and premium on demand shows at no additional cost.

It’s probably no coincidence that Sling’s weekend of free HBO comes just in time for the debut of two hot new shows from the network. The comedy-drama Big Little Lies premiers on Sunday night at 9 p.m. while comedy series Crashing debuts that same night at 10:30 p.m.

If you haven’t heard of those shows yet, here’s a rundown: Big Little Lies is a series that follows three moms and their first grade kids as they watch their seemingly perfect lives slowly unravel. When ex-husbands and their second wives, their drama queen daughters, and schoolyard scandals are thrown into the mix, the women discover that even little lies can turn in to something lethal.

The HBO comedy Crashing follows a New York City comedian who finds his life shattered when his wife walks out on him for another man. As he’s rebuilding, he finds himself crashing on the couches of some of the best comics in New York City. Directed by Judd Apatow, the show stars Pete Holmes and Lauren Lapukas.

Of course, in addition to those two premiers, the free HBO weekend on Sling means you can watch HBO live at any time or get access to their library of great shows on demand, including Game of Thrones and The Night Of.

When the party is over and the free weekend has ended, the regular price of the HBO add on to Sling is just $15 a month.
