Sling TV Says “Bienvenue” To Two New French Programming Packages In The US

If you’re a fan of all things French, you just got a little more incentive to cut your cable package, as Sling TV is rolling out two new French language programming packages.

Instead of a “one size fits all” approach though, two packages are available. One is packed with over 30 channels, and includes sports, news, movies, entertainment, lifestyle, kids programming, and more. The other only has four networks, but it’s four major ones.

For true French connoisseurs, the “French Bouquet” package is what you’ll want. It costs just $15 a month, and adds 34 channels to your Sling lineup. Both French and English language channels are included, but they’re all France-centric, like TV5MONDE Info, France 24, TiVi5MONDE, TV5MONDE Cinema on Demand, Trace Urban, Euronews, Eurochannel, TV5MONDE Style, Trace Sport Stars, and more. Ligue 1 fans will want this package, as beIN SPORTS is included.

For a lighter option, there’s the “Francais Extra” package, which costs just $5 a month. This package is for viewers who want to add on to their “Best of Live TV” English package (Sling Orange, Sling Blue or Sling Orange + Blue). Four channels are included here: TV5MONDE Cinema on Demand, France 24, TiVi5MONDE and Trace Urban.

This is hardly the first international addition for Sling. They added Spanish language local channels back in December of 2015, Best of Spanish in April of this year, and a Spanish language History channel in May. They also have German, Italian and Polish television packages available, with more languages on the way soon.

International assets are quickly becoming an important part of the streaming television landscape. More people are cutting cable than ever before, and while some are just looking for a skinny bundle with a handful of channels, some are looking a package filled with options. And if Sling can corner that market, expect their subscriber base to keep growing.
