Watch the Memphis Grizzlies Online: 2016-2017 Grizzlies Live Stream Guide

The Memphis Grizzlies are a great team, and although they have had a few ups and downs in recent years, they are always fun to watch. With some new additions and that old Grizzlies aggression, fans are hopeful for a great season this year. If you’re wondering how you can watch the Memphis Grizzlies online this season, look no further than the guide below.

Ready to watch? The good news is there are plenty of legal ways to enjoy a Memphis Grizzlies live stream. If you have cancelled cable, you’ll have to find another way to keep up with your favorite team. Luckily, there are many ways to watch the Memphis Grizzlies online. We’re about to show you the best legal and easy ways to watch the Memphis Grizzlies game live stream online without cable.

Watch Memphis Grizzlies Live Stream with Sling TV

Sling TV

Sling TV, a TV-alternative service brought to you by Dish Network, is generally the best way to watch the Memphis Grizzlies online. Subscribers to Sling TV (review) will enjoy a lot of the same content offered by basic cable, without the sky-high bill and long-term contract.

So, how does Sling TV work? Basically, it’s a live streaming service that works on computers, mobile devices, and on your TV via a streaming device (such as a Roku, Chromecast, gaming console, etc.) Subscribers get streaming access to a selection of popular channels at a low price and with no contract.

If the Grizzlies are your local team, or if you live anywhere in the Southeast (Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, etc.) you can use Sling TV to watch ALL Memphis Grizzlies games of the season! That’s right – residents of the Southeastern United States can watch every Grizzlies game of the season using Sling TV. How? Well, Sling includes FOX Sports Southeast in their “Sling Blue” package, and this network is home to all Grizzlies action!

With Sling, you can stream the Grizzlies game on a variety of devices. If you don’t have a device capable of streaming to your TV, Sling TV will give you a free Roku when you purchase a 3 month subscription. You can also choose to get a discounted Apple TV, if you prefer.

Once you’ve got it set up on all your favorite devices, you can use Sling TV to watch many popular cable TV networks, live. You’ll gain live access to networks like Disney Channel, A&E, ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, and many more. You can tune in to these channels at any time, from any compatible device, with a basic subscription to Sling TV. Note that different channels are available in different packages.

So, if it gives you access to TV channels and requires a subscription, how is Sling TV really any different than cable? Two things: price, and commitment. Sling TV is just $25 per month (for Sling Blue), compared to the exorbitant cost of cable TV, which can easily be over $100 a month. And as for commitment – with Sling TV, there is none! Sign up for a month, and cancel whenever you want. No long term commitments, no cancellation fees, no nonsense!

As for basketball coverage, Sling TV offers several options:

  • For Southeast residents – live access to FOX Sports Southeast, which covers ALL Memphis Grizzlies games!
  • Live access to ESPN streaming and ESPN2, which broadcasts NBA games on Wednesdays and Fridays and throughout the NBA playoffs and the NBA Draft (note that ESPN channels are not available in all Sling TV packages).
  • TNT live stream, which broadcasts NBA games on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Live access to ABC broadcasts of NBA games via the WatchESPN App

As you can see, Sling TV is an excellent way to watch Memphis Grizzlies online, without needing a cable subscription. It’s low price and no-commitment nature make it an easy choice for people looking to cancel their cable bill.

Watch Memphis Grizzlies Live Stream with PlayStation Vue

PlayStation Vue is a new online streaming service from Sony. As the name suggests, the service is currently only for PlayStation device owners.

So, what is PlayStation Vue (review) and how can you use it to watch the Grizzlies online? Well, it’s an online streaming service that is quite similar to Sling TV. PS Vue gives its subscribers access to live streaming from many popular cable networks. TNT and the ESPN networks is included in the Vue offerings, which means you can use PS Vue to watch all the NBA games that those channels air. So you can watch the Grizzlies game live stream throughout the playoffs.

PlayStation Vue offers a variety of plans, with prices starting at $29.99 per month. In addition to being more costly than Sling, Vue is only on a small number of devices (PS consoles, Fire TV, Chromecast) and while it’s now on iPhones and iPads, you are mostly blocked from mobile streaming outside of your home network. Because of the limited availability of this service and the somewhat high price, we think that Sling TV is a much better option, at least for now.

Watch Memphis Grizzlies Live Stream and On-Demand Replays with NBA League Pass

nba league pass

When it comes to watching NBA online, there are really two types of services: services that offer lots of different kinds of content, like Sling TV, and services that offer strictly basketball coverage. NBA League Pass is the second type, offering a ton of NBA coverage.

In fact, NBA League Pass offers the most NBA content of any streaming service out there, making it one of the best ways to watch the Grizzlies online (as long as you don’t live in the Memphis area, as local teams are blacked out – more on that later).

So, what all does NBA League Pass offer? Here’s a breakdown:

  • Live coverage of all regular season NBA games from all teams (local and national blackouts apply)
  • Access to HD on-demand replays for regular season games
  • Access to HD on-demand replays for playoff games
  • Access to HD on-demand replays for classic NBA games from past seasons

It’s important to note the bit about local blackouts. Because of how TV broadcasting rights work, the cable networks own exclusive rights to broadcasting NBA games within each team’s local area. So, if you live in the Memphis area or in the team’s broadcast market, you won’t be able to watch Memphis Grizzlies live stream using NBA League Pass. You can still watch Grizzlies replays, plus watch live games from every other NBA team – you just can’t watch the Grizzlies game live stream in their broadcast area.

Also good to note is the difference between the two different versions of this streaming service.

NBA League Pass gives you access to live streaming and replays from every NBA team in the league (local blackouts apply). This version costs $199.99 per season.

NBA Team Pass gives you access to live streaming and replays from a single NBA team that you select (local blackouts apply). This version costs $119.99 per season.

NBA Single Game Pass gives you access to live streaming of a single game of your choice – so it’s a great way to just catch an important game or two throughout the season (local blackouts apply). A Single Game Pass costs $6.99 per game.

You can use NBA League Pass/Team Pass on a variety of devices, including streaming players, computers, and smartphones/tablets. Overall, it provides an excellent way to watch the Memphis Grizzlies online – so long as you don’t live in the Memphis area! The price is a bit high, but it will still save you money over the price of cable in the long run.

Catch a Memphis Grizzlies Game Live Stream for Free with Your Antenna

antenna DVR combo

Did you know that you can use an HD antenna to watch several weekend NBA games this season, for no cost at all? If you already have an antenna, you’re good to go. If you need one, check out our guide to choosing a TV antenna.

Once you have your antenna set up, here’s how it works:

You can use your HD antenna to tune into over-the-air channels like ABC. Since ABC broadcasts featured NBA games throughout the season as well as the postseason, you can actually watch NBA games for free using your antenna. ABC may or may not air some Grizzlies games this year – you can check the Memphis Grizzlies TV schedule for more info.

Also – if you want a bit more flexibility when it comes to watching these games, we recommend that you record them so you can watch them at your convenience. You’ll need a good DVR (see our guide to DVRs here) to record and watch the games.

Watch the Memphis Grizzlies Online for Free using TNT Overtime

So, we already know that TNT hosts several NBA games each week – but did you know that they also simulcast some of these games via a mobile app called TNT Overtime? Amazingly, you can actually use TNT Overtime to watch select NBA games live, for no cost at all. Unfortunately, no Grizzlies games are currently slated to be hosted on Overtime at this time – but it’s still an easy and free way to watch NBA games online and keep up with some of your other favorite teams.

Watch the Grizzlies Online with No Blackouts with NBA League Pass International

The NBA offers two versions of its League Pass service: one for domestic fans (those living in the USA), and one for international fans (those living outside of the USA). For international fans, NBA League Pass International offers the same great content as the domestic version, with one huge advantage: there are no blackouts on League Pass International! This is a great way for fans abroad to watch the Grizzlies game live stream.

Here are links to a few of the most popular countries where League Pass International is available: Australia, Ireland, and UK.

Use a VPN to Stream the Grizzlies Game Live from Outside the USA

If you’re a fan of the Grizzlies, but you don’t know how to watch them play because you no longer live in the United States, one good option is to use a VPN service.
