watch MLS online

The MLS season kicks off on March 3, and if you are a cable cutter you’ll want to make sure you know all of your options for watching MLS streaming this season. Previously, it may have been difficult to keep up with all of the action, but now there are tons of options.

This season, games will air nationally on a variety of networks, so if you’re a soccer fan, you’ve got lots of streaming options depending on which games you want to watch. MLS games will air on FS1,  FOX, ESPN, ESPN 2, Univision, and Unimas.  Even if you do not have a cable subscription, you can easily gain access to the MLS live stream on these channels. Below is all of the information you need to watch MLS online or live on your TV the entire season.

Watch MLS Online with DIRECTV NOW

DIRECTV NOW is a fantastic option if you want to watch MLS online. The service does not require a satellite, and for $35 per month, you get over 60 channels. DIRECTV NOW (review) carries each of the above-mentioned channels in their packages, which means you cannot go wrong with this service if you’re trying to see this season’s soccer games.

Another thing to take note of is the fact that DIRECTV NOW carries regional Comcast and FOX networks, so if you live within your market area, you might be able to follow your local team as they battle on the pitch. This is in addition to the games that are broadcast nationally.

This service often runs special promos such as offering a free streaming player when you pre-pay for a certain period of service, so it’s definitely worth checking out all your options on their website before purchasing. Though DIRECTV NOW is a little more expensive than Sling and Vue, it offers a lot of channels for the price, and it doesn’t have any of the mobile restrictions that hinder viewing on Vue.

Don’t forget you can use the 7-day trial to watch MLS online free to make sure you like using DIRECTV NOW before you take the plunge.

Another option for soccer fans to catch this season’s MLS matches is to stream via fuboTV. Like DIRECTV NOW, fuboTV also offers regional Comcast and FOX streaming (if you live in the market area), so you can keep up with your local team in addition to the national games. The live streaming FOX markets are offered in the following areas: Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Gainesville, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose, Tampa, and Washington D.C.

FuboTV is definitely a sports lover’s ideal streaming service. Starting at $34.99 a month, most of their coverage is focused on offering HD streams of all your favorite sports channels so that you never miss a game. This service specifically has a whole host of soccer channels including the entire FOX Soccer Plus platform. Also, fuboTV has a cloud-based DVR so that if you have to miss a game, you can record it and catch up on it later.

Sling TV Offers Legal MLS Live Stream on Multiple Channels

Sling TV

Sling TV, a subscription streaming service offered by Dish Network, will be your best option to watch MLS online. You subscribe to Sling TV on a monthly basis for $20 per month for the orange package. You will gain access to over 20 popular cable channels. The channels can even be live streamed on your TV with a device like Roku or Chromecast, or you can watch them on your phone, tablet, or computer.

The main reason Sling TV (review) will be a great option is channels like ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN3 (accessible via the WatchESPN app with your Sling TV login) are included in the basic orange package. These channels will broadcast a large amount of MLS games and you can easily watch plenty of MLS streaming on Sling TV.

If you want to watch even more or are interested in watching the games broadcast in Spanish, you can pay an extra $5 each month for the Sports Extra package which includes Univision Deportes, ESPNews, and beIN Sports.

If you are interested in watching MLS streaming during the whole season, then Sling TV has a great deal for you. When you subscribe to three months of Sling TV you can choose either a free Roku 2 or 50% off a Roku 3. Either device lets you stream MLS right on your TV and both are great deals, especially the Roku 2 which normally retails at $69.99. If you do the math there you can see you get the Roku 2 for $10 off retail and get three months of Sling TV.

The Sling Blue basic package offers different channels to watch MLS online, so it’s definitely worth taking a look at both packages to see which one is best for you. Sling Blue is $25 a month and includes regional FOX and Comcast sports networks as well as FOX live streams in select markets (on-demand nationwide). This package also includes Univision and Unimas.

There are lots of options with Sling so we recommend trying Sling TV out free with the 7-day free trial. If you time it right, you can even watch MLS online free for a week.

MLS live

One last option, which will let you watch nearly every MLS game during the year, is MLS Live. The service, offered by MLS, lets you live stream each game that is not being broadcast in your local area. That means there are in fact blackouts, so this would not at all work if you wanted to watch your favorite team nearby online. But, it is a great option if you no longer live near your favorite team or just enjoy watching as much MLS streaming as possible. For the entire season, MLS Live costs $79.99.
