Today, various streaming services make it much easy to watch this exciting race online. Below you’ll find detailed information on how to find a legal Tour de France 2016 live stream so you don’t miss a single stage of the sport’s most historic event.

Sling TV Offers Cheapest Way to Watch Tour de France Live Stream

Sling TV

Sling TV (review) now offers the most affordable and most convenient way to watch the Tour de France online without cable. The live streaming service offers a bundle of popular pay TV channels streaming over your internet connection at a fraction of the price of cable and with no contract. Their offering includes NBCSN which will be offering live daily coverage of the race. The service also offers local NBC networks in select markets throughout the US; however, the channel will provide coverage for one stage of the tournament.

You can watch Sling TV on your television (using a streaming player, including Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Xbox, and more), iOS and Android phones and tablets, or your computer. NBCSN is available in the base package called Sling Blue which is just $25 a month with no contract. Use the Tour de France Live Stream Service from NBC Sports

NBC has exclusive rights to broadcast the Tour de France in the United States. Most of their live coverage is on their NBC Sports network. NBC offers a special subscription service that lets internet users see detailed race coverage online. For just $30, you get Tour de France Live Stream coverage in HD for all stages of the race–no cable subscription required. This includes analysis, highlights, and interviews. You can even pause and rewind coverage so that you don’t miss a thing. However, it’s important to note that these live features are only available in the US.

Not only can you watch the Tour de France online with the NBCSN streaming service, but you also gain access to a few other really cool features. For example, there is a live interactive map that allows you to track the progress of various riders along each stage. You can also get individual standings, as well as team standings, to make sure you know who is in the lead and where your favorites stand in the rankings. Want to watch replays? Those are available on demand too.

With so many options available, it’s clear that NBCSN’s Tour de France live streaming package is well worth the $30. If you’re interested in signing up. you can do so here.

Can I Watch the Tour de France Live with an Antenna?

NBC is a broadcast television network, which means most people can get it for free with an antenna. However, the NBC Sports Network is only available with a cable subscription or PlayStation Vue. That being said, on Saturday, July 9th, NBC with be broadcasting Stage 8 of the Tour on their main, over-the-air network. That means if you have a good antenna (the Mohu Leaf 50 is my top recommendation), you can catch all the stage 8 coverage on your TV. You can also use a good DVR to record the stage and watch later.

Can I Stream Tour de France from Outside the US?

Yes, but it’s a bit more tricky. The options above are only for US residents, but if you live outside the US, you can use a VPN to change your IP address. This will allow you to watch either on a French station (for free), on NBCSN (for a fee), on the BBC iPlayer, or several other options. Learn more here.

This information indicates that NBC Sports offered internet streaming specifically for the Tour de France in 2015. As of January 1 we are in the year 2016. There is no mention here or at NBC Sports on whether the same service will be offered in 2016.

    • Keith,

This was an article for the Tour de France last year. We’ll update as it gets closer in 2016. I’m not certain offhand if NBC will offer the service, but I can only assume they will. You’ll likely be able to watch with PlayStation Vue as well.
